Dearest Pet Parents,
973 pet food recalls since January 1, 2006! This is terrifying news and amounts to one recall a day for the last three years! What is going on in the pet industry? Pet food companies appear to be all about business and making money. They obviously do not have the best interests of our much loved pets' health in mind.
We as pet parents must be vigilant when caring for our pets' health. They are counting on us.
Go to http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/newpetfoodrecalls/ and search CAT, DOG, and HORSE food products.
It is very likely you will see your pet's favorite brand listed. Share this vital information with other pet guardians.
Remember: If your pet is only picking at its food, there is often something wrong with the food.
There is a time lapse between when pet parents discover bad food and when they report it to the FDA. Then it could be months before the food, snack, or toy is recalled.
When your pet vomits or refuses to eat, change their food immediately, consult your veterinarian, and report the product to the FDA website above. (Often urinating around the home is a problem with cats who are eating bad food.)
