An Unusual Bit of Information

Dearest Pet Lovers,

My dear friend Betty Tisdale www.BettyTisdale.com who works with orphans around the world is affiliated with Marni Gustavason and her work in the Afghanistan orphanages.

Marni's heart-work has also expanded to including homeless pets.  Below is her information in case you wish to investigate further.

After 5 years of rescuing dogs, cats and various other assorted animals from the streets, mountains, and trash heaps of Kabul, Marnie and her group PARSA are starting an Animal Shelter at Marastoon.
http://www.afghanistan-parsa.org/

The Shelter and Rescue efforts fall under the Healthy Afghan Community Program and includes education of Afghans interested in adopting a pet as well as vaccines, spay and neuter services and veterinary medicine for animals.

They are in dire need of:

- Pet medicine
- Leashes, collars and animal toys
- Volunteer assistance (a Vet trainee?)

They are home to 25 dogs plus an additional assortment of animals from cats to donkeys.

They'd appreciate any help offered, including; adopting an animal in Kabul, or bringing a pet to the States.

The PARSA Wish List

- Printer Ink - please contact them for types of ink
- Any Animal related items for their Project within the Healthy Afghan Community Program - toys, food, leashes, collars, flea and worm medicine
- Soap and toiletries for orphan

As with all Non-Profit and NGO Organizations, they are constantly in need of a variety of items.  Most notably funds for their general operating fund.

A tax-deductible check is one of the best items they receive, for their programs, and wood to heat their buildings and classrooms.

It is easy to send things to Marnie in Kabul, Afghanistan through her APO (Army Post Office) address here in the U.S., which mails it directly onto her in Afghanistan.
