Pet Tips 'n' Tales
How Can One Purrs-on
HELP in a Drought?
Unplug bug zappers and tell neighbors that the devices are killing insects that birds feed on!!!

This next tip is from Suzka in Portland, Oregon.

"I fill the bird baths twice a day, more if they splash it all out, which have on these very HOT days!

I have two bird baths and I also water the shrubs where they like to rest and hide.  The little birds suck up the water droplets and so do the bees!

I place flat pebbles in the bird baths for the bees and wasps.  They can't land in water so I be sure to keep the pebbles above the water.

I have seen the bees land on the pebbles to get a drink. It's been brutal for these little ones to find water.  They wait in the tree, right above me and watch me fill the baths.  We have become quite good for each other....they are delightful to watch."

Tip from Laura on Vancouver Island, Duncan, BC, Canada

"I always put bowls of water out all over the yard and I also put a bowl of water out at work for the wild life."

Thank you for these useful tips that we can all do!!!!

We need the bees to pollinate our next crops.

I save the rinse water from  vegys and my hands at the kitchen  sink. Collect it into containers and take outside to water plants.

With communities turning off their water fountains and streams drying up the birds, small animals and insects need our help.
